Game Design + Visual Identity + Packaging + Motion
This project addresses a gap in graphic design education by focusing on the business aspects of freelancing and client/designer relationships. Serif-8 is a board game that offers an engaging way for students, faculty, and designers to explore new professional dynamics.
Set in a space station in 2551, the game mirrors the uncertainties designers face when entering the industry. Matches promote the exchange of best business practices in a playful and interactive format.
An Orbiting Show
Beyond my classroom activities, Serif-8 has been played and displayed in galleries, universities and conferences across Florida, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.
For the MFA Gallery Exhibition, I set up two tables for people to play. I created banners to show the process behind the game and a looping video to invite people and briefly explain the rules. Watch a timelapse of the opening night and the animation displayed on the wall below.
